Parts and Consumable

Overview

The "Parts and Consumable" doctype allows you to manage and categorize different parts and consumable items within the Service Management module.

Fields

1. Part Name

• Label: Part Name

• Usage:

  • Enter the name of the part or consumable item.
  • This field is required and must have a unique name.
  • Example: "Bolt A", "Oil Filter", "Screwdriver Set"

2. Type

• Label: Type

• Options:

  • Part
  • Consumable

• Usage:

  • Select the type of the item: "Part" or "Consumable".
  • Helps categorize and differentiate between parts and consumable items.

3. Item

• Label: Item

• Usage:

  • Select the item associated with the part or consumable.
  • This field will display the list of available items to choose from.
  • Example: "Bolt A" may be associated with a specific hardware item.

Usage

1. Navigate to the "Service Management" module.
2. Select "Parts and Consumable" from the list of available doctypes.
3. Click on "New" to create a new part or consumable item.
4. Enter the "Part Name" for the item.
5. Select the "Type" of the item: "Part" or "Consumable".
6. Choose the specific "Item" from the list of available items.
7. Save the record.
8. You can view, edit, or delete the parts and consumable items as needed.

Notes

• Each part or consumable item should have a unique "Part Name".
• Use the "Type" field to categorize whether the item is a "Part" or "Consumable".
• Select the specific "Item" associated with the part or consumable.
